On 26 October, the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE) held the EU-Japan EPA Workshop at JBCE office in Brussels.
The workshop was opened by Mr. Felix A. Lutz, Secretariat of the Committee on International Trade – INTA, with updating the current discussion in the European Parliament, and followed by the session with Sidley Austin and Ernst & Young who provided the explanations of detail formalities and procedures to enjoy the benefit of the EU-Japan EPA.
At the final session of the workshop, Mr. Jean-Michel Grave and Mr. Albert Hendriks from DG TAXUD, the European Commission, provided the presentation and had Q&A with participants.
More than 30 participants mainly from JBCE member companies’ logistics departments could learned the detail formality of the EPA and exchanged their views.
JBCE is keen to keep its eyes on the discussions in the European Parliament and continues to call for the smooth ratification.
Also JBCE would like to support its member companies to utilise the EPA appropriately after entering into force.
