JBCE's Environment & Energy Committee submitted its views following the call for comments on the One Substance - One Assessment package

On 2^nd April 2024, JBCE submitted its views on the One Substance - One Assessment (OSOA) proposals below:

- Chemicals – making best use of EU agencies to streamline scientific assessments

- Chemical safety – better access to chemicals data for safety assessments

JBCE understands that these proposals are part of the OSOA approach in line with the “Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS)” under the European Green Deal. However, we would like to emphasize the importance of balanced risk assessments, our concerns regarding the re-attribution of scientific and technical tasks to ECHA in the context of the amendment of RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and the need to guarantee the confidentiality of information.
