JBCE Position Paper on the Simplified Implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation

On 12 May 2025, JBCE released a position paper addressing the simplified implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The paper presents practical recommendations drawn from real industry case studies to reduce administrative burden while maintaining the Regulation's environmental objectives, including:

• Enhanced flexibility for due diligence statements covering multiple shipments from various sources.
• Clarified scope exclusions for synthetic rubber products and minimal natural rubber components.
• Alternative compliance methods for paper products where geolocation tracing is impractical.
• Exemptions for replacement packaging materials, wooden pallets, and separately imported informational materials.
