JBCE Welcomes Japan's Official Accession to Horizon Europe

JBCE warmly welcomes Japan’s official accession as Associated Country to Horizon Europe, which opens door for Japanese researchers to lead and coordinate their own R&I projects within the programme, apply for and secure funding, and strengthen collaboration with partners across the EU and other associated countries. The agreement covers Pillar II of Horizon Europe, which addresses societal challenges through multinational collaborative projects, such as the digital transition, food security and climate-neutral energy.

JBCE has consistently advocated for Japan’s participation in Horizon Europe through various platforms, including the EU-Japan Business Round Table, the EU-Japan Tech Business Roundtable and the CEATEC conference.

We look forward to enhanced cooperation between the EU and Japan in the field of R&I.
