JBCE and JP4EE Comment on Repairability Score and Labelling under the Ecodesign Regulation

On 24 April 2024, JBCE and the Japanese 4EE industrial associations (JP4EE) published a joint comment on the repairability score and labelling for household appliances and other goods under the Ecodesign Regulation.

They call for:

• Avoiding fragmented implementation.
• Preparing practical guidance and FAQs.
• Defining "priority parts" (parts that are easy to disassemble) and weighting (weighting factor).
• Divided the assessment for repairability score information between parts that can be handled by consumers and parts that can be handled by repairers and/or manufacturers.
