JBCE and EBC Joint Statement on the EU-Japan Digital Partnership

On 4 May 2026, JBCE and the European Business Council in Japan (EBC) published a joint statement on the EU-Japan Digital Partnership.

JBCE and EBC strongly support efforts to ensure that the Partnership remains a living and dynamic platform that evolves in line with technological developments and global challenges. They also encourage the EU and Japan to accelerate the development of concrete joint projects and co-investment initiatives under the Partnership, and welcome the prospect of Japan officially becoming an Associated Country to the Horizon Europe programme. JBCE and EBC advocate for structured and regular engagement with industry representatives to ensure that policies remain grounded, effective, and innovation-friendly.
