JBCE Position on the Delegated Regulations Amending the Waste Shipment Regulation (Trade in E-waste and E-scrap)

On 2 July 2024, JBCE submitted its views on trade in e-waste and e-scrap in response to the proposed delegated regulations amending the Waste Shipment Regulation.

JBCE stresses the importance of:

• Uniform operation on the classification of Y49 and A1181.
• Clear, fair and simplified requirements for the intra-/extra-EU transportation of Y49 and A1181.
• Establishing an adequate transition period.
• The recycling capacity of trading partners must be harnessed to realise the EU circular economy.
